The changing social situation and the aging society are one of the current trends not only in Poland but also in Europe. Observing the emerging new furniture needs, we have created a special collection of furniture dedicated to homes and care centers for the elderly.

How was the project created?

The furniture has been specially designed with the participation of the Senior Care Foundation. The main challenge we faced was to create a collection that meets the needs of the elderly, such as: safety of use, resistance of materials to disinfection, the need for well-being like at home, ergonomics of furniture that will be easy to use.

Using the design thinking methodology tools, we have created an innovative product. Each of the steps below brought us closer to achieving our goal.

What are and what are the characteristics of senior furniture?

The furniture resembles household furniture in terms of appearance. The current market offer of furniture for the elderly is close to or the same as hospital furniture. Here, the aspect of the senior’s feeling at home was important, which is extremely important for his better well-being.

• the height of the furniture and its functionality are intended for people with limited range of motion,
• rounded corners instead of sharp edges, ensuring safe use,
• tops made of laminated boards with increased resistance to scratches, the use of chemicals or disinfectants,
• Hygienic properties are ensured by furniture made of high-quality laminates,
• furniture fronts with deep handles adapted to hands with limited strength or arthritic features,
• drawers with full extension, support and easy closing – they are easy to open and close,
• installed wheels that allow you to move the furniture to the most convenient place,
• the ability to customize the design and colors, upholstered furniture made of high-quality fabrics and eco-leathers ensure durability and easy cleaning all furniture ergonomically adjusted to people with limited range of motion ensure comfort and ease of use

We are proud that our furniture has received the recommendation and certificate of the National Chamber of Nursing Homes KIDO, and our company contributes to caring for such a special group of users as seniors.
